Hairdresser Gary Hedley opened his first salon in April 1995 in the Eldon Garden shopping centre in Newcastle upon Tyne. The compact salon was an instant success, and within 18 months Gary had moved into a larger site, which he then expanded to a 2,000 sq ft hairdressing haven. With a business that was in hot demand, Gary focused on offering first-class hairdressing to clients who wanted a fresh approach from a visit to the salon. A focus on customer care and great hairdressing proved a recipe for success and by 2010 two further salons had opened in nearby Burnopfield and Mosley Street.

The group now employees more than 55 employees and each week in excess of 500 clients experience hairdressing at Gary Hedley.
